If you are a customer which is currently moving or planning to move to version 10.0.34 for Dynamics 365 F&O, you might experience the following error on your environments:

An error occurred while processing batch job SysDMFStagingExecutionHistoryCleanupJob

This error is due to the fact that with the version 10.0.34, the underlaying class which was responsible for executing the logic for this batch job, bearing the same name (SysDMFStagingExecutionHistoryCleanupJob) has been deleted as an object, so now the batch task is pointing to an empty batch class, resulting in error.

If we go a little back in the service updates, we can find and read the following statement from Microsoft: Data import and export jobs overview - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn where we can see that the previous functionality for cleaning up the staging tables (SysDMFStagingExecutionHistoryCleanupJob) was replaced by the “Job history cleanup” functionality, which can be found under “Data management” workspace.

Since version 10.0.28, this replacement of functionalities was able for use only if you had “Execution history cleanup” feature enabled in Feature management, but since now this feature is enabled by default, you must use the new functionality called “Job history cleanup” as a replacement to the old SysDMFStagingExecutionHistoryCleanupJob and also delete the old batch jobs so that you can resolve the errors which may occur on your environments.
